Hua Hin Thailand. About 3 hours south of Bangkok on the west side of the Bay of Thailand.

A few years ago we saw advertisements for a new concept in retirement homes. Individual and private condominiums and pool villas for sale or rent with suitable services for early retirees or older retirees needing assistance or care.
The services include nurses on site 24/7 who take care of you with frequent checks. Assistance with red tape such as retirement visa and opening bank accounts etc. There is also an executive lounge with free tea and coffee, a free shuttle service every 2 hours to the beach, malls and other important places, restaurant meals delivered to your home without service charges and maids to clean your residence twice a week.

During our last holiday in Thailand in January and February 2025 we booked a weeks stay at Sunshine Hills in Hua Hin to see for ourselves how this new concept works.
During this visit we met the CEO of Sunshine International, Andrew Stocks, who showed us a range of condo's and pool villas at Sunshine Hills, Tara, and Prestige, the latest development.
We were completely sold by the pool villas at Prestige along with the whole project. They are beautiful and set in safe and nice grounds together with the Prestige hotel and the condo residencies. The Prestige development is between Hua Hin and Cha Am.

Although a huge decision, it did not take us long to make the decision to move to Thailand to live in a pool villa at Prestige with all the services provided including never needing to move to a 'conventional care home' because your new home can become your care home with all the help you may need.
